Pan European contracts: A new trend?

It seems that global brands are now regionalising activity and in the scale of things the old Western Europe or European Union is becoming part of the "European division".

Centering the "European Division" is now becoming very much a tax driven decision with several relocations away from the UK with Brussels and Switzerland being the most popular.

There also seems to be a trend for the global players to work with other major names across a region rather than local companies. With today's technology it doesn't matter what your physical location might be, it is availability.

As an example a FMCG player will work on design, packaging and logistics with the same players across the "European division"  and this has some interesting recruitment implications as skills gaps require to be closed.

As always with the big players they spend forever contemplating their corporate navels but when they make a decision they expect the solution yesterday.

As a headhunter you need not only the connections, but to be psychic and having crystal balls helps.

Now dare I mention - "could you send a job description?"

Welcome to the weird world of international recruitment.
