Youth@Work is a Eurpean Union backed initiative to encourage young people to consider the 23 million small and medium sized enterprises that operate in Europe, as well as stimulating young entrepreneurs to take the plunge and start their own businesses.
ERA's Managing Director Chris Slay was asked to make two presentations during the day and his presentations were streamed live across Europe and subsequent interviews are likely to be listed on line after editing.
- The first presentation was motivational about preparing yourself for the job hunt
- The second was pratical tips on CV's, cover letters and interviews techniques
We have received requests from the European Union and jounalists to share our presentations and Chris has asked me to put them up so anybody can view them.
As Chris only uses slides as a backdrop it is the messages around the slides that are important and we hope the additional videos will not be long delayed but we are not in control of the process.
Remember three things:
- Getting work is 80% in the preparation and 20% in the presentation
- At the end of the day people buy people and only you will secure a job, nobody else
- If you are struggling the first thing to do is to look at yourself as the answer usually lies within
