The following position is for a Manoeuvring & Transport Section Head for a Shipbuilding & Repair Company based in Bahrain.  This is a permanent position and a tailored contract will be negotiated. Our client is seeking a candidate with the following qualities.

You will need to have a technical education up to college level and a minimum of 6 years experience in the

Responsibilities will include:-

• Being responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Maneuvering, Rigging and Transport 
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all 
• Ensure an acceptable standard of Quality, Environmental, OHSAS and Security Management System is maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEHS&S Manual and 
• Determine job priorities, time, manpower, industrial vehicles and crane requirements with Supervisors and Department Head for each task and the allocation of Riggers/
• Attend daily meeting with the Department Head for evaluation of the jobs to be carried out and have discussions on the 
• Check the work performed by afternoon and night shift of pervious day on daily 
• Inspects all travelling cranes and other major rigging 
• Make technical decisions whenever necessary or as requested and change method of work to meet the target date of 
• Contribute and assist in defining Company’s safety and disciplinary procedures and assist Department Head in handling serious breaches of disciplinary code and safety 
• Ensures the observance of quality assurance system in the Section is as per the ISO 9001:2000 
• Report and assist the Dock Department Head on necessary elements concerned with his Section’s responsibility and Company’ 
• Suggest modifications required in the existing system to meet the growing 
• Assist the Department Head in the preparation of 
• Recommends overtime to meet the job requirements
